Starting your yatra from Dehradun

Dehradun is the best starting point if you're flying in. Jolly Grant Airport (DED) has direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Ahmedabad. Our driver meets you at arrivals, and you can either rest a night in Dehradun or drive straight to Barkot (about 5-6 hours) to start Chardham.

Dehradun is 55 km from Haridwar. Most itineraries go Dehradun → Barkot (skipping Haridwar) on day 1.

Why pick Dehradun as your starting point?

  • Fly in, start yatra the same evening
  • Skip the Haridwar chaos if you prefer
  • Often better flight connectivity than Delhi
  • Can combine with Mussoorie visit before / after

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I book?

For May-June and October (peak season), book 2-3 months in advance. Other months, 2-4 weeks is fine. We confirm with 25% advance.

Can I customise the 10-day itinerary?

Yes. You can add days for sightseeing (Auli, Triyuginarayan, Kalimath, etc.), upgrade hotels, add helicopter for Kedarnath, or start from a different city. WhatsApp us with your preferences.

Is this suitable for senior citizens?

Yes. We plan shorter driving days for senior groups, book hotels closer to temples, and can arrange palki/pony/helicopter for Kedarnath and Yamunotri. Tell us the age of your group when enquiring.

What if it rains during my yatra?

Monsoon (July-August) has frequent landslides and we discourage travel. For April-June and September-October, rain is rare. If any road is blocked, we adjust the route or add rest days. Full support throughout.
